According to Daily Star UK, Jennifer Forshaw, 28, sent intimate images and texts to prison lag Ian Howard after sparking a romance behind bars at Category C Wymott Jail in Leyland, Lancs.
But after husband Jonathan found the saucy images on her phone the pair had a row and the mother-of-two was arrested.
Over 200 text messages were swapped between her and the inmate after he illegally acquired a mobile phone.
She pleaded guilty to committing misconduct in public office but denied any "physical liaisons" before she wept as she was jailed for 21 months.
Judge Ian Leeming QC said: "You grossly breached the trust placed in you by becoming heavily involved romantically with an inmate at the prison.
"You sent him a very large number of texts and calls by phone which he received in prison.
"You took self photographs, some of them in your underwear. You had some photographs printed.
"Some photographs actually went to him, you sent him cards, some of this material was found by your estranged husband at home as were text messages when he looked at your phone without your permission."
He continued: "Your remorse is entirely genuine but I'm afraid at the end of the day I take the view I cannot suspend sentence for offences such as these, it gives me no pleasure to come to that conclusion."
The offences occurred between December 2015 and June 2016, with Forshaw separating from her husband in February 2016.
