The car flipped over after crashing into the central reservation of a motorway.
According to Daily Mail, the motorist amazingly escaped with only 'minor injuries and a few stitches to his face' from the accident on the M23 near Gatwick Airport.
The incident was captured by an HGV driver's dashcam and shows driver Saqib Ali veering out of control when a rear tyre blew out while he was driving.
The smart car smashes into the central reservation before flying backwards from the force of the crash and flipping through the air five times, hurling its 22-year-old driver out onto the tarmac.
Ali can be seen lying face down on the road hardly moving as the lorry draws up behind.
The Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance were initially alerted but were then stood down.
However, despite the apparent severity of the accident, the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
Speaking about the incident to local news site, Get Surrey, Ali said: 'Everything went slow and I can remember thinking I am going to flip onto the other side and clash with oncoming traffic.
'I don't remember whether I was wearing my seat belt or not I only remember driving straight and then facing towards the central reservation.'
Ali has chosen to share the footage of his crash for his 'peace of mind'.
