According to an exclusive report by both Sahara Reporters and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), twenty-one out of the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the Boko Haram in 2014 have been freed by the sect.
Both organisations said a government official, who pleaded anonymity informed them of the latest development.
The government official informed them that the girls were picked up by a military helicopter after their release.
He said a major activity was taking place at Banki, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon.
I can confirm to you that there is a major activity going on in the Banki axis. For now, that is what I can tell you.
The source said.
Although, the Nigerian Army and the Federal Government have yet to confirm the reports.
